What is DTF printing?
The DTF system is a relatively new printing technique. With these printers, various surfaces can be printed easily and quickly.
The term DTF stands for Direct to Film. The printer prints the design directly onto a transparent film. It is then transferred to the fabric. These printers make it possible to produce designs in high resolution and vibrant colours on various surfaces. Read all about the materials that can be printed using DTF systems in our article.
Sustainability
Because less water and energy is required during the printing process using DTF printers, it is seen as a more sustainable way of printing textiles than sublimation printing. But the DTF system also produces less waste because no transfer paper is needed.
But the print itself is also very durable. It is extremely wear-resistant. They are water-resistant and can last many washes without deteriorating in quality. This means that the prints do not fade quickly and retain their intense colours for a long time. The print itself is also not easily damaged, they last a very long time.
Finally, you also have the option to make more sustainable choices with the ink choice. For example, there are water-based inks available. These have no harmful effects on the environment and on the people who will wear it.
The transfers of our DTF printers are fully OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 certified! This means that both the PET film, the hotmelt powder and the inks are free of substances that can be harmful to health and therefore they are also safe to use for baby clothes, among other things.
